I think while invoicing you can put 100% amount in the retention amount and enter another invoice with the same negative amount. IF you are using the WIP account so the balance will be zero and the final entry will be in between Customer and retention account and to balance accounts you may have to enter some GL entry.

Before and after compilation we got the same error. This is the standard application, the only thing is we upgrade recently from R2 CU7 to R3 CU11 and while upgrading we didn't encounter any issue.

Sql Server Analysis Service Project Wizard Error
Greetings,
I would like to setup Role Center.
Installed Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and Enterprise Portal from Ax setup.
Database verion: SqlServer 2014 Standard Edition 64 bit.
AX 2012 r3 Cu10
When I tried to run Sql Server Analysis Service Project Wizard. I get the following error as in attachment.
- I have already added Fiscal Error as in 2nd attachment.

Hi Alex,
I am getting the same error while doing Inventory Recalculations.
I am using AX 2012 R3 CU11 and even there I found this code as missing one.
But in my case, we have 5 legal entities, for 1 legal entity the Inventory Recalculations were successfully done. While doing the Inventory Recalculations for the 2nd legal entity we got this error.
Question-1: This fix is for which version?
Question-2: Do you think this is a system bug, as to me it seems to be a data issue since for other legal entity it was done successfully.
Would appreciate for your quick help.

RE: Credit Note Reason Not coming on Sales Order & Sales Line
Hi Binit Shah,
The return reason field is not available in the sales line table. In the sales table you have the field available, yet it is not automatically filled with the reason code you select in the credit note form.
If you want to see it at the sales order / line Level you would have to make a System adjustment.
Note: At the time you post the credit note you can identify the reason Code from the ledger voucher created in the General Journal Entry table.

Hi,
When I tested this, I did it quickly and missed that I added a trailing slash by mistake,
The URL must not have a trailing slash...both JSON and SOAP methods will fail if you do.
BTW I would suggest trying to use JSON, using the NewtonSoft Nuget package. You can get the types from the WSDL, and serialise and deserialise to the classes from soap to save time if you like.
I may release a blog on this, but I need to check with the publisher how much I can release first.

Dynamics AX7 Webservice authentification
Hey,
I created a simple webservice in ax that returns a string. The WSDL is available. Now Iam trying to consume this webservice via a C# program.

The Problem is that we are using the contoso image for developing. Is there any way for a simple authentification without the Azure Active Directory?
We don't have this option right now but we need to test the services.

Insufficient inventory transactions with status Purchased, using wms mobile device
When posting a vendor Invoice we receive the following error:
The line amounts show these numbers:
As you can see, the number is in the Ordered as well in received culomn which doesn't seems to be correct.
This is a line split by a delivery schedule.
The receipt was booked with a mobile device using WMS 3.
We are also using approval workflows on purchase orders with change management. Possibly, the receipt was registered while the purchase order was changed again to concept because the delivery schedule was made. Afterwards the purchase order was approved and confirmed again for the second time.
Does anyone has a solution for this? does there exist a hotfix?

Work ID not Valid (WMS Process)
Dear All,
Please somebody help to solved my issue,
When i do process Purchase Put-Away and then i'm cancel the process when the process is Put. And i'm scan again the work id but cannot process the work id, the infolog is "Work ID is not valid". Status the work id "In process" how can i completed the work id?

RE: Synchronization error in Axapta 2009
Here you go. Whenever you do a sync AX does comparison of AOT and SqlDictionary, if there is a column in AOT but record does not exist in SqlDictionary for this column AX will generate SQL statement to add column to SQL table. In your case there is a column in SQL but AX never looks at SQL only to SqlDictionary table, so it generates statement that could not be executed.
There are 2 ways how you can fix it:
1) If there is no data in this column - drop it from SQL and AX will add it back on next sync.
2) Add record to SqlDictionary table and AX won't try to create it again.

There is no functionality out of the box to export data from form to csv only "Export to Excel" that could be invoked by using ctrl+t shortcut. However, you can build your own custom export to csv, there are plenty blogs and examples in the web, here is couple of them :

if you are using Excel 2016 to connect OData feed follow below steps to connect using URL.
Open Excel --> go to Data tab --> New query --> From Other sources --> From OData Feed
now enter the URL and proceed further, now provide appropriate authentication details to connect data feed in AX.

Unauthorized to access OData feed in Excel
Hello All,
I have created New data entity in the basis of new table and i have also set IsPublic property to yes but when I am trying to access Odata url in Excel it is giving me below error and I have doing all this by administrator login.
Error:- We couldn't connect to the data source. Please check your login information.
Here is the error message we got: The remote server returned an error:(401) Unauthorized

You have not mentioned for which area are you looking for learning materials, so I will assume Development for now. We have a dozen of topics about the same question, so first you need to improve your search skills, since you could find 90% of the answers using a search engine for AX on the Community site, blogs and documentation.
You are using the wrong tags on your post, Current version means AX 7 / Dynamics 365 for Operations, while you are talking about AX 2012 - fix your tags!
You may find great books on Safari books online, or if you prefer hardcopy, I am sure you could find them on Amazon. Such as the one published by Microsoft:

Also the AX wiki and the MSDN documentation for AX 2012 is an excellent source.
The best source however is using the application itself, with the current demo data and standard configuration.
