Generating inspection orders in AX2012 R2

Hello everybody,

 

I'm trying to figure out how the "generate inspection orders" function is working in ax2012. The scenario in which I like to use it is the following:

 

We do have items, like for example art.no.66000000, with batch-settings as the below screenshot is showing.

 

This item is having limited shelf live, so we’ve setup the required shelf life data. As you can see, batch ‘010383’ is expired by now (we have 299kg on-hand)

 

 

Also, we’ve setup the necessary quality association incl. testgroup and tests.

 

In my understanding, this should be everything needed to run the generate inspection orders job (especially since I left out any filter).

 …but the result is … nothing… not even an infolog. Once the job is started, absolutely nothing happens.

 

Can anybody help me with that? Did I miss to setup something?

Unfortunately, Microsoft documentation is lacking any hint of how to use or setup that function.

During run date assigned from the unpack(), remove the date variable from the currentList and set the date value to today's date during execution.

Check the classDeclaration method and #localmacro.CurrentList used in the batch class.

ok I am not technical does this need to be done everyday or just something needed to change in the class and then it will run per day and invoice both the sales order and return order associated?

why don't you add a range using standard dialog, before you add the job to batch, where you can set range. have you tried that with (day(0))

I  agree in thoughts with you. i don't remember any such functionality on Dynamics 365 that may copy notes from customer to sales order.

Notes to Pop Up on Customer

I have a customer that is going form AX 2009 to D365. There issue is they created a customization to have customer notes automatically popup on order entry. I don;t think there is anything standard in D365 to make this happen but maybe I missed something.

Let me know if we are still customizing this piece. :)

Ohh, then someone from technical need to help you. Can you find a flag named 'As of today'  in the dialog form that sets the batch?

whether a chart of non-chart SSRS report, you can always get such functionality using parameters.

what these selections will do..? simply change the data that is being displayed on the report.

Yes, click the "Select" button and then add your range; that should be considered each time batch job executes.

you may want to test this on TEST server, where before each test you can close and reopen AX and then change session date to experience the testing of your batch job.

Hi,

I got the same error on a file system AIF port. At first it was strange to me that client reports an issue with "net.tcp" in the service path for a file based integration. But then navigating to "System administration/Periodic/Services and Application Integration Framework/Exceptions" I was able to see the error message there. I guess that's the info that Martin was missing and asking for. AIF internal service call.

Hello Expertise,

I have created PurchaseOrderService by using AIF wizard with three table(query) Purchtable,Purchline, Inventdim , after deploy create a inbound port with file system adapter . then create a bath job and set recurrence time is 1 minute.

Now while batch is running xml file is processed from related folder but PO is not creating . and in exception form system is generating below error.

The request failed with the following error:  This request operation sent to net.tcp://DynamicsAx/Services/PurchaseOrderCreate did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:05:00).  The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.  This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message.  Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client.


Please suggest to resolve this issue.

it depends upon how you add job to batch job.

please share steps and screenshots with us. we, yet, don't know if that is a custom process or a standard dynamics ax process. what i have recommended to add range that is supported in almost all batch jobs (depending if query object is there at back of that)

please do following

1) explain your process step by step, that you follow to add batch job.

2) attach some screenshots.

The links to extend report are already provided above , Create extension option is not available for reports you have to extend report by following link given above . For duplicating report in your project , create project with correct model assigned to it (Model referring package where report belongs to)

Means first I need to add report in to project then only it allows me to duplicate the report but no extension.
