Implement AX 2012 in printing industry
Dear
i want to know has anyone implemented AX 2012 in printing industry, we are facing some challenges:
most of the times multiple jobs (each job will have different FG item code), are printed on one big sheet and after completion of printing it will be cut, this process is followed to save the paper cost and its very common.
there will be different operation on each product after print.
has anyone come across this kind of situation.

can we embed a certificate file in ax project just like resources in class library c# project
Hi All,
I have a C# dll which consumes a web services using a certificate, in 2012 we provided the certificate in a local path, and passed the path to C# dll, now I ma trying to attach the certificate within the c# dll and consume it.

Uploading through DIXF replaces instead of creating EAM Maintenance sequences / Object types
I have been loading into DIXF the AX EAM Maintenance Sequences and Object Types - everytime I do a import , it replaces one entry and I have to manually go make several entries and then upload so that the importing replaces the "made" entries - this is the workaround .
So I have 393 object types to be uploaded - I have to go make object type entries numbered from 1 to 393 , and then do the import otherwise it won't have something to replace with - but importing objects works fine and doesn't need this workaround.
Has anyone experienced this and hopefully there is someone that can give me the reason or fix for this irritating issue ?

I create new role, start recording, after that I save the recording.
for other newly created role, I just load the recording to duplicate/copy the menu.

I am unsure what a 'Summary invoice' is.

Have you looked at the data entity dependencies here? When we did data migration from R3 to 365 (we did it with excel files import) we followed this exact order of import and we didn't have problems with product variants:
- Products
- Product specific unit conversions
- Product master colors
- Product variants
- Released products
- Released product variants

Cannot import released product variants
Hi All,
I am able to import released products and released product masters.
The problem is when I try to publish variants for an item, system (OData) service throws an error saying "Matching record for the read-only data source 'EcoResConfiguration' does not exist."
The only entities we have regarding variants are:
Released product creation
Released product variants
Product variants
Retail Kit Configurations
and none of them is useful because of above error. How about you? How do you import var

We have recently implemented Production Control in our manufacturing facility. Our industry is Make To Order where every production order is linked to Sales Order. But sometime, it happens when a production order is started and customer cancelled the sale order.
I need to know if there is any way to change reservation of started production order to a different sales order.

For each item, transaction stored some information's in InventTrans and InventTransOrigin.
As given below screen shot there are Reference and Receipt column.
For Purchase: Reference-->Purchase order and Receipt-->Purchased
For Transfer: Reference-->Transfer order shipment and Receipt-->Purchased

How to access user access logs for Dynamics 365 for Operations?
Hello,
We use D365 Operations and have a need to pull the user access activity data (login / logout date time) from D365 Operations into a 3rd party application.
I understand that these logs are stored in sysuserlog table (??) but when I query this table (through VS), there are no records. Does this logging need to be turned on?
Also, what is the best way to extract this data from D365 Operations, since we have no direct access to the db. I can think of the following but wondering if someone has thoughts on the pros and cons or if there is a better way?
1) OData: Not sure if there is a data entity for sysuserlog and has its IsPublic property as Yes.
2) Export the data entity to a SQL Azure database using entity export...

Same Bank check number generated for two vendors
Hi,
In Ax 2009, Our client is following FIXED check number method. For the Same Bank, System has generated same check number and posted the transactions for two different vendors in different dates. Generally system should not accept the same check number to be posted for two vendors either it is Automatic or Manual method. For reference find the screen shot.
Please suggest on the same.

Go to the inventory Location, in the Address tab, select the record, click edit.
It opens the Standard logistics postal address form with Country, City, street, etc.. as a separate fields.
