Hi André,
Yes, I'm using the payroll module to do the payment. The user created two lines with two different pay codes, one with the date of January 2015 and the other with January 2016. We ran a script to change the year to the 2016. But it won't post, because the month of January 2016 is On Hold, we don't know if we open the period and post it, could cause any issues in the future; or run a script to change the payment date to February 2016.

You say that you see the controls in the design, so what's surprising on the fact that they're showing in the report? It's the expected behaviour, isn't it?

ERP or software systems are made for Global Needs of clients who operate with numerous sort of businesses.
The line of information which you are referring to, may be useless for your business. But that line of information can be very handy for many other business. How? This line of information represents inventory dimensions such as Site, Warehouse, Color, Size etc. Couple of businesses, highly utilize these inventory dimensions.

Create an Output menu item which references your new controller class.
Add that menu item to the proper privilege so that it is inherited by the appropriate roles automatically. Note that this tends to be the most difficult decision, because there are so many choices. Or, you can add the privilege to a role directly, but this is less common and not a best practice.

PrintControllerClass error when not System Admin
Hello all,
I have a situation where I am receiving an error after running a print output command button from the released products form.
The steps are Product Information Management > Released Products > Manage Inventory tab > Print Item Label button (<==Yes this is a customization)
The error message is
Access denied: RSCInventItemLabelPrintController
If I attempt to run this as system administrator I don't receive the error message so I know it is related to a custom security role.
I was thinking I could copy the class in which I can find by the name but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
How do I allow for the class to be called from a specific security role?

ADFS Infrastructure question when on-prem AD connected to Azure AX AD
I have set up ADFS and mobile apps but never in a two way AD trust environment. The ADFS server and AX systems were always on the same network. I am going to be setting up the mobile apps for a client that we are deploying (through LCS) to Azure. Once the environment is running, we are going to create a Site-to-Site VPN between their on premise Active Directory domain and the LCS deployed AD domain for ease of user administration in AX.
My client is purchasing Office 365 and is trying to make a decision on which option to use to link up their on premise Active Directory and Office 365. I know ADFS is available for the authentication piece and I am wondering this -- if they install ADFS on their local network for use with Office 365, can I also utilize this same server for mobile app authentication while the AX environment (and the Microsoft Dynamics AX Connector for Mobile Applications) lives on Azure?
Next question. If my client does not install ADFS on their local environment for the Office 365 project, can I install it on the Azure AX system? Will it authenticate through the 2 way domain trust or does the ADFS server need to be on the clients local network to function?

IF you have customer source you can download the training manuals, use the E-Learning player (videos) and their is even a courseware tracking so you can see which ones you have passed (viewed)....I would also recommend to hire a good T&L Functional (not a technical guy). These experts will help you avoid countless headaches and nightmares just by advising you on HOW TO SETUP AND USE AX....You can get a lot from TechNet if you at least know the basics such as create a sales order, confirm, pick, pack and ship......then it becomes more logical as to what your users require, such as do they pick by sales order? going to each aisle, rack, bin and putting together shipments that way? or do they pick by ship due date? Release Date? Maybe shipment carrier? UPS arrives at 10am so you may create a pick wave for overnight UPS orders (maybe ones with onhand inventory only?).......customersource student training materials are a must have as well as seasoned functional T&L
Here is a list of what all the 2 modules touch, in theory a mastery of these forms would also allow one to become a skilled functional solutions designer (Business workers who also happen to be AX super users)

WHS user manual and Transport user manual
Hi,
is there a youtube movie or manual how workers in the warehouse should threat AX for the basic workflows like order picking, release, wave creation and packaging in conjunction with WHS? Also how to plan ex-works order delivery, printing CMR/ Bill of lading?
In The Netherlands AFAS and Exact have online tutorials and videos. Are those also present for AX? The Transport and WHS module are quite complicated for our workers.
Are there recommended books?

Only an hour.....it actually is doing a lot behind the scenes...you can add batch servers to your batch group, the more muscle you throw at it, etc,...many clients have separate batch AOS that only run these type of ong running tasks, many have multiple batch servers...I usually run the snapshot at night and only about once a week....otherwise i would create a BI cube for this type of activity (AP/AR aging are just as bad) and use MR or SSRS.

We are running the customer aging snapshot (sales ledger>Periodic>Collections>Customer ageing snapshot). I have already split so it is running for batches of 50,000 customers but is still taking over an hour to run, does anyone have any experience with this, or any ideas for it to run faster?

Hi Pablo,
If the accounting manager is convenient with opening the period, you can go to GL > Setup > Ledger. From this form you can open the calendar and set the status for the specific period to be opened if it was blocked and not fully Stopped.
If it is set to stopped, you cannot change the status using the user interface.

Payroll - AX 2012 R2
Hi,
Does anyone knows what problems may cause if I open a period that is on hold and post a transaction? In my case, I have a payroll run for one employee with two lines and one line have a different year, and for this it won't post. We ran a query to change to the correct year, but the payment was already paid and we cannot change the date of the payment, and we can't post because the period is on hold. Could it be possible for me to change the payment date to a open period?

Hi,
We have error in mobile handheld with next work order lines:
Pick 10 pcs product A location 1
Pick 10 pcs product A location 1
Put 20 pcs location outbound.
1. Why do we have this error which can be resolved by overriding the pick location.
2. Why is the work template not smart enough to consolidate this in 1 pick of 20 pcs instead 2 x 10 pcs?
Is this fixed in CU10 or is there something wrong with location directives?
