We are in the process of rolling out to some of our smaller retail stores and are investigating an offline DB sync challenge and I have come to the following conclusion, see if this makes sense
I have a store with a store DB (SQL Express) and it has 4 registers (SQL Express for Offline DB)
We install the server and do HQ push everything builds fine and all data present from push. I build Register 1 and all builds fine, start offline sync service and it starts to syncs immediately, same for register 2.(Server Syncs Log confirms sync between server and Reg 1 and Reg 2)
Next, I bring up register 3 and 4 all builds fine, start the sync services and nothing happens, I see no activity in the form of reads and writes between databases(Store and Offline).
The last store with this configuration same scenario first 2 fine, next 2 registers eventually sync’d but it took 2 days.
My question I am trying to get confirmed is, is this a limitation because we are using SQL express? I have not seen this issue with a full SQL server in our larger stores.
If this is the issue, how can I get around this limitation?
