Projects - Post costs to BS or P&L

Hi All ,

AX 2012 R3 - Project Module

Project groups form has the fields like post costs to BS or P&L and it says that costs will post BS or will post P&L then reverse and post to BS .

My question is normally Which option will prefer  BS or P&L ? Is it differ based on the Project type ? or Is it based on Industries ?

For what kind of industries will  use P&L and what kind of industries will use BS ?

Please share your implementation experience .
